OPEN CALL: Get your class involved in an international project

Bratislava City Museum is looking for two pilot secondary school classes to take part in a unique educational project focused on 20th-century history, democracy, civil society and critical thinking.
The programme consists of seven group sessions over five months and combines modern educational approaches:
- an introduction to oral history and students’ own historical research,
- project-based learning and the creation of an original student project,
- exploring the history of Bratislava in the second half of the 20th century,
- meetings and consultations with experts,
- international cooperation with a school in Vienna and a field trip to Vienna,
- presentation of the project outcomes in a new exhibition space of Bratislava City Museum.
Who are we looking for?
- two secondary school classes from Bratislava or the surrounding area that are open to active and participatory involvement,
- engaged teachers with an interest in modern history and project-based learning,
- students with a conversational level of English.
What will you gain?
- a free educational programme led by experts, including methodological support for teachers throughout the project,
- development of critical thinking, historical thinking and soft skills,
- an opportunity to present students’ work as part of a real museum exhibition,
- international cooperation and networking,
- a certificate of participation and the opportunity to build a long-term partnership with Bratislava City Museum.
How to apply
The application process has two steps:
- Create a short 2–3 minute video with your students answering the question: How do people show resilience during difficult times in today’s society?
- Complete the online application form.
