This cross-sectional historical collection was founded in 1963 and comprises objects dating back approximately to the period from 1800 to 1950. The time frame can be shifted to the present, especially in case of documentation of wine-growing and wine-making.


What does the collection document?

  • Traditional culture: culture of villages joined with the city in the framework of creating the so-called Greater Bratislava, which includes the traditional costumes and textiles, equipment and furnishings of the household, agricultural tools, craft activities and artistic expression.
  • Wine-growing and wine-making: the key collection line of the collection is the history of the Bratislava’s wine-growing and wine-making.

Valuable items with supra-regional significance:

  • unique wine-growing symbols and tools,
  • historical objects and tools related to well-known and significant wine-making companies Palugyay and Hubert.
