The burgher house from the 1760s is currently undergoing an extensive renovation that will restore its historical character and, at the same time, will prepare it for new visiting experience. In 2028, an educational and information centre will be created there – the Laboratory of Regimes – it will be dedicated to the history, events and lives of people in the 2nd half of the 20th century and in the 21st century.

Although the building is currently close, its great location between the castle and the historical centre of Bratislava is an ideal starting point for exploring the city. Directly opposite on Židovská ulica, you will find the House at the Good Shepherd, one of the most photographed historical buildings in Bratislava. A short walk will take you to other sites of the BCM – Old Town Hall, Apponyi Palace or to Michael’s Tower and Red Crayfish Pharmacy.

Frequently asked questions

In this building, the Museum of Arts and Crafts, one of the locations of the Bratislava City Museum, used to be housed. However, due to its poor technical condition and the need for its complete renovation, we had to close it. The renovation is being currently carried out in the framwork of the project Turning Points. Our goal is to renovate historical spaces with great sensitivity, give them new life and transform them into a place where you will want to return to.
