House at the Good Shepherd
One of the most impressive and photographed historical buildings of Bratislava is an authentic symbol of the setttlement under the castle. It is located in the former Jewish district, which was largely demolished in the 20th century. That is why the house represents one of the few structures that reminds the original appearance of the 18th century city.
It is worth taking a look inside as well – a narrow, vertically designed building is a unique experience that reflects the way it was common to build in the cramped conditions under the castle. In addition to the unique architecture itself, you will find there an exhibition that will take you to the history of clockmaking in Bratislava in the 17th–19th centuries. The house is open from spring to autumn on selected days of the week. Just a short walk will take you to other locations – to Michael’s Tower, Old Town Hall and Apponyi Palace.
