Mgr. Michal Čudrnák

Michal Čudrnák specialises in the digitisation of collections and making them accessible online in cultural institutions. At the Bratislava City Museum, he heads the Digitisation and Digital Services Department, which coordinates the museum’s digitisation plan, develops digitisation facilities, manages the collections management system and is responsible for making the collections accessible online.

Before joining the museum, he worked at the Slovak National Gallery, first as a Digital Collections Specialist and later as Head of the Digital Collections and Services Department. In this role, he led the development of Web umenia, an online catalogue of works from Slovak gallery collections that has become a key platform for providing online access to museum and gallery collections in Slovakia and the Czech Republic.

During his time at the Slovak National Gallery, he was also involved in the Digital Gallery project, which focused on developing a digitisation facility, modernising the collections management system and digitising more than 100,000 works from Slovak gallery collections. He has also worked with a number of cultural organisations, including the Slovak Design Center, the Slovak National Theatre and the Centre for Folk Art Production (ÚĽUV), as well as Czech memory institutions such as the National Gallery Prague, the Museum of Literature and others.
