Technology
It is a collection focusing on documenting devices used in Bratislava households, but also in offices and public spaces, especially on products of Bratislava industrial companies from the period 1880–2000. Originally, it was created in 1985 in the context of the ideological regulation to comprehensively document the building of socialism. However, from the beginning, it was designed as a collection that documents the importance of technology in everyday life of the city’s population.
What does the collection document?
- Technology in everyday life: devices and technical equipment that have shaped domestic life of the Bratislava population.
- Industrial production: products of local Bratislava industrial companies with the aim to complete their production series.
Specific collection lines:
- photografic devices,
- sewing machines and typewriters,
- products of Bratislava factory of the Tesla company.
