Dejisko. History Playground
Duration of tour: 120min

Dejisko. History Playground is an interactive experience zone of Bratislava City Museum, where children discover stories from the past of Slovakia’s capital through play, movement and creative activities.
Across six themed rooms in the Old Town Hall, young visitors travel through different periods in the city’s history. They explore the world of traditional crafts, become guardians of the city walls and take part in a coronation. They set out to discover the Danube and find shelter inside a giant beluga sturgeon, a fish that once swam in its waters.
Dejisko. History Playground combines play with informal learning. Here, children do not simply learn about the city’s history, they experience it. Together with adults, they create, experiment, make connections and step into the stories that shaped Bratislava.
The concept for Dejisko. History Playground was developed by Bratislava City Museum authors Magdaléna Kuchtová and Zuzana Zahradníčková in collaboration with designers Veronika Obertová and Michaela Čopíková (Ové Pictures), who expanded the concept with interactive elements, illustrations and the overall visual design.
There is no age restriction, but the space has been designed primarily for children aged 3 to 12.

* Quiet visiting hours: We understand that the usual museum environment can feel too noisy or stimulating for some children. We want Dejisko. History Playground to be a place where all families can enjoy their time together without unnecessary stress. That is why we reserve one morning each week specifically for families with children who have additional needs. During these hours, visitor capacity is intentionally reduced and no organised group visits take place.
