What did an ordinary day in Bratislava look like over the past three centuries? What is it like to step into the rooms where decisions about the city and the lives of its people were once made? The permanent exhibition explores the history of Bratislava’s inhabitants from the 17th century to the end of the 1930s.

In authentic historic interiors, you will discover the everyday life of the city, from municipal administration and coronation events to crafts and trade, education and culture, associations, theatre and the Danube itself.

The visitor route also takes you into spaces once at the heart of public life, including the former city archive, the council chamber and the courtroom, some of the most historically significant interiors of the Old Town Hall. The exhibition also includes access to the former city prison.
